The first season of The Vampire Diaries, a show about one girl and her intertwined family who discover they are descendants of vampires, was released on DVD in the United States on October 30th, 2009 by Warner Home Video as a 5-disc set. This is the episode guide for this release. The following episodes are included on the 5-disc release of season one. The Vampire Diaries: The Complete First Season has been released on DVD in Region 1 territories. As well as every episode from the first season, the DVD release features bonus material such as a "Resurrecting The Original Vampires" featurette, deleted scenes and an extended version of the pilot episode. In Region 2 territories, Warner Home Video have announced a 4-disc set due for release on September 15th 2009.
